In the mornings we will be doing various structured exercises to develop your child’s drawing abilities. Each exercise will be used to develop your child’s ability to see things in a way so that they are able to interpret them on paper. Using still life, we will be working on how to portray proper proportion and light on paper, with a few different methods.

Then we will focus on colour theory and techniques using various styles of art medium. We will be working in watercolour, acrylics, and various types of collage. We will learn how working in watercolour contrasts to acrylic techniques. Our focus will also be on composition and form, while creating a beautiful work of art.

I will be working with each child individually so that they can learn at their own pace and level. First time students are very welcome, as I form the lesson on each individual’s ability. The class will be small so that I can focus on each child's strength. All art supplies are included.

Weather permitting, class will be held in the back garden. Please dress for the weather and for a mess. We will be working with glue and some paints that could stain clothing permanently.

Children must bring along a water bottle and a small nut free snack as we will take a short break between the drawing and the painting time.

Just a note that the class begins at 9:30am and ends promptly at 12:30 pm.

No credits, transfers or refunds for missed classes. IF we encounter any behavioural issues, parents will be contacted for immediate pick-up.

Please discuss with your child in advance the importance of respecting their work and the work of the other students. We would like everyone to focus on their own accomplishments and achievements, to encourage their self worth as an artist.
